ZIVA’S PERSIAN TABRIZ MOTIF

THIS IS OUR MOST POPULAR MOTIF! 

A Tabriz Persian carpet has been our inspiration to create designs for piano benches, seat benches and cushions! 

These beautiful needlepoint canvases, many with different dimensions and background colours have been created several times thanks to this one very elegant motif!

TABRIZ PIANO BENCH 

This piano bench was our first project adapting this pattern! 

We developed the central design for the needlepoint piano bench by selecting and rearranging various elements of the elegant Herati border from the original carpet.

The design intention was to respect the various classical oriental carpet details which, in this case, comprise a central medallion with rosettes and palm leaves placed symmetrically on either side. 

TABRIZ SEAT BENCH

TABRIZ CUSHION  

As a complement in the same room as the piano bench, we again adapted the basic motif...

to create a square cushion, still using the central medallion complete with rosettes and palm leaves.

TIMELESS CLASSIC DESIGNS FOR YOUR HOME! 

We have created many contemporary designs exclusively for our recent newsletters, so for 2020 we’ve decided to develop an elegant classic Persian design for all our more traditionalist newsletter subscribers! 

Great gift ideas for Christmas or a special birthday! 

THE DESIGN CONCEPT -  COASTER 

We chose the Tabriz’s small delicate central medallion motif and added a flowing range of buds, stems and leaves encircling it… completed with a terra cotta border.  

One design with different background colours! 

For our particular interior colour scheme, we chose a light warm grey background colour, but you could change the background colour to suit your home.  

Or stitch 4 different coloured backgrounds as suggested above!

We designed the coaster to suit the 3.5” square dimensions of the cherry wood coasters from Sudberry House (Go to “Table Top” at http://www.sudberry.com).

They provide the frames, and the glass covers to fit over your stitching, with full instructions for mounting.

You can order just one or the complete set of four online. Your choice!    

THE DESIGN CONCEPT -  TRIVET 

For the trivet, we created a larger design at 6” square with the same central medallion and then added the full classic complement of rosettes and palm leaves.

Again, you can change the background colour to suit your décor.

Please note that we worked to the larger trivet dimensions as provided by Sudberry House with the frame again in cherry wood and with a glass cover.

FEATURE STITCH OR TECHNIQUE 

We decided to use the Tent Stitch throughout with these two motifs, in order to have a flat stitched surface for the glass covers to fit over properly.

With both the coaster and the trivet, placing tableware on them such as glasses, bowls, etc. will require a flat surface for safety reasons.
